So onto the news about Tomomi.

Why did she leave 9LoveJ EXE?
I don’t know why she left in the first place, but I do know that she recently moved from Shibuya->Shinjuku and has been frequenting CODE’s Trance parties.

What is she doing now??
Unfortunately, I was a bit saddened when I found out what she’s doing now. She is now a hostess girl working in a “Cabaret Club” called Destino in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho.

So in DISCO NRG we’ve been receiving quite a few comments and issues, and we’ve been discussing this for a bit. So, we’d like to make some points:

1) WE ARE NOT TRYING TO BE THE COOL KIDS CLUB. We’re just a group of good friends who have a common interest: ParaPara.
2) Don’t you even DARE thinking that you can be in DISCO NRG if you’ve ever talked bad about any of the members.
3) If you are not a member of DISCO NRG, do not try to talk to a member and try to nominate yourself or another person. If you do this, we’ll take you less into consideration.
4) Just because you’re in DISCO NRG doesn’t mean you get access to “super cool media from Japan”. Not all of DISCO NRG are allowed access to this media.

This week’s eurobeat selection is comprised of music from various euro compilations through the years other than SEB (unlike last week’s SEB ONLY playlist). For techno, expect music from dance compilations such as Super Dance Freak and House Revolution. And of course, there are always your requests to look forward to. I will still be on MSN and AIM to receive your shoutouts, but I will change the system for accepting requests as of Friday.

Instead of sending your requests via messenger programs, you will need to either upload the song @ Yousendit or e-mail me the song at tsunkuinyoureyes@gmail.com (granted that it’s 10mb or less).

So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning, checked my e-mail and saw that I had been invited to join the Parasa DISCO NRG! I had no idea they were planning on expanding and creating a Second Generation but I was more than pleased to accept their invitation as the first of this new generation of the circle. =D

I guess I’ll start by introducing myself. My name is Alex aka Densetsu13 on the ParaParaStage message board. I’ve been a paralist since the end of 2002 and haven’t stopped since. In terms of para, my favorite paralists are Richie, Inocchi, Ichi, and Satoko, and my favorite routine tends to change more often than not. In terms of Eurobeat my favorite label is SCP, and this past year I’ve been re-discovering Time. Also this past year Eurobeat from the 2nd Boom has been growing on me mostly thanks to a lot of the new 200x versions.

A lot of what I know about Eurobeat/Para is thanks to the members of DISCO NRG. I know I may have dropped Para if it weren’t thanks to their re-films to keep us updated or just answering my countless questions on the topic ;P Each of them has contributed somehow to what I know now and for that I thank them as well as thanking them for inviting me into their group. =)

Now I know everyone else’s first post had some sort of interesting info, but until I have something worthwhile to post I shall go back to doing what I do best at 3am, ripping Club Vids

So while doing some laundry today, I came across my Lucky Paradise event shirt. How nostalgic.

He is the first member to join “2nd Generation”, and we hope he feels at home in our circle!

So Reed and I originally intended to get ONLY TIPSY, but I ended up full blown drunk XD
So it started out with 3 drinks (Cassis Orange, Moscow Mule, Tequila High ?). I felt fine during this time because I was dancing, but then Kaopu*, Ketan*, Ayako* and Takashi* came round over to me to do the drinking haihaihai thing to me like 2 times, I think both times with tequila? Anyways when they do that to you it’s where you have to drink the whole thing in like one gulp/time.
Didn’t feel the affects really, not until Techno and I was on the bench XD Reed got off to make sure I wouldnt fall, lol. He took me off the bench to the table but I was like “no I wanna dance let me go on the floor~” so I tried my best to dance on the floor XD Akko* was drunk as well, so we did a lot of drunken dancing together like linking arms in Play With The Numbers! We also had a circle for techno, and during side steppings, our whole circle held hands so the 2 of us wouldn’t fall over :X

Soon they celebrated HTV Midori’s* birthday, and then more techno~ Reed said I hit Hime* a lot (of course, not on purpose). I remember I said hi to Shingo* and that I only wanted to say hi to HTW Ryuichi*, but instead I fell on him :x…. I remember sometime later Kyohei* came and I saw him so I stumbled off the dancefloor to ATTEMPT to talk to them, but I think I just kept saying sorry XD Reed said it was really fun to dance with me when I was drunk, and that I actually REMEMBERED them even when I was wasted! I remember the charisma’s pointing and laughing at me when I was doing techno :x

During Midnight Love I think I got tired and went back to the table. I saw Hanako* though instead, so I ran over to her and she just held me What a good friend~ haha. I wanted to dance the euro bad but Hanako didnt let me go so I just ended up singing the songs to her XD

So at the end Reed had to help me up the stairs and I was waving to Daichi* (friend who was also drunk), and I ended up falling over on him. When Shingo was leaving he said something like “I thought I’d never see this side of D~tan before!” and I yelled something to Midori too XD and um… I started yelling Kyohei’s name in a really obnoxious voice and he just walked away, lol…

40 min – TECHNO
Again, pretty self-explanatory. Techno from various series not limited to we love Techpara. Expect both new and older (Juli-tech) selections.

10min – REQUESTS
This segement is dedicated to the listeners of the broadcast. You have about the first 2 hours to request songs for this portion and can send them if I don’t have them available via MSN/AIM.

I’ll be playing dance and pop selections that may or may not be related to eurobeat or techno. Expect….the unexpected?

So I figured I would make a club post. Considering that I haven’t been to King & Queen since my first (and so far only) trip to Japan, things have changed.

I loved King & Queen. You know the old pictures and videos from clubs like Area and Maharaja? Well, King & Queen was revived as a memorial of sorts to the clubs of the second boom. There used to be a Maharaja in almost every city in Japan!

Part of current Disco NRG (Paralization Globalization at the time) attended Eurofire one night and Magical Rave two nights.

Eurofire was mainly a 2nd boom event, with later parts of the night being dedicated to 3rd and 4th boom para.

However, Magical Rave was very much a youth event. Lots of 4th boom, and more techno than euro, which was a surprise to us, as techpara was basically unknown to the American para para world at the time. Dom, Jason, and Jim knew more about it than me, but I knew nothing. So I was surprised

Getting in cheaply during happy hour for ¥1000 was nice. Also, it’s a very 90′s club, with plenty of gold, mirrors, obnoxious sirens (which I loved and hated at the same time) and cheesy keyboard sound effects, just like you hear on Maharaja Night Disco Mixes from back in the day. It’s pretty fucking awesome.

However, I noticed there was something about a renewal at the bottom. I discussed this with Jim, and it turns out King & Queen closed in November, due to some legality issues. As some of you may know, clubs in Japan aren’t very strict about alcohol or ID checks.

Which is somewhat of a worry. One night we were there, a girl passed out, apparently due to drinking too much, and had to be carried out. It seemed as if no one but her friends noticed. Kind of scary :X!

Also, Dom had alluded to some club crackdowns in Roppongi. So I guess King & Queen was raided, and was closed.

The Maharaja Night event for the month of January has been moved to Garden. I don’t care much about that event.

But what about Magical Rave? Even though this event has become mostly techno according to Dom, I still want to go back. The crowd was fun and young. I liked it! Jim tells me it’s moving.

Since I love KinKui, I’ll post updates if I ever go back there.

-Magical Rave recently began choreographing techno.
-Richie and Luna Teresa Mori of Para Para Kyouten fame had a special performance at King & Queen a while back.
-KinKui is the nickname for King & Queen
