So I’ve been trying/planning to film my next batch of videos for like the last month. After finally being able to do so on Saturday I learned the hard way that despite having lighting nothing defeats the sun in all it’s glory even if it is sunset -.-. In other words, filming in Franny’s living room was not an option since there are no curtains behind me (refer to last batch of vids I filmed) despite my filming at the exact same time as last time and the sun not pointing on me. It was just too bright. You can see me, but not my face =P (refer to Disco NRG vol. 2 XD). It was funny too because in the middle of filming a random Japanese girl rang the doorbell and tried to sell us things. I got to practice my Nihongo

So after deciding that what I filmed was not adequate I decided to hit up the city with Francis and our friend Jeremy in tow. The first place, which is the gorgeous Place Ville-Marie (http://www.phototravelpages.com/canada/montreal/images/montreal.jpg) had evil security that told me I couldn’t film because I had a tripod. WTF mate. So we packed up everything and searched MTL’s underground city for another nice filming spot and we found one. We moved the van, unloaded everything, and just as we were about to start filming security comes once again. I notice on the name tag that it’s the same company as the previous spot which confused me because we were far away enough from the last place. In any case he at least told me I needed authorization, so next time I just had to get some.

Frustrated I decided I could find a nice spot at my school because I’m a student there and had my god damned authorization! But as soon as we get there security is like sorry but the building’s closing. Of course I had wasted my whole afternoon trying to film at other places not realizing that it was Sunday and the buildings on campus closed at 6…

I just sent the email to get the authorization and hope to have the filming done for Thursday and have all the vids uploaded before I leave Friday for Toronto this coming weekend. I’m driving to Vegas tomorrow with Bree (I’m sure some of you know who she is 8]) and me and Jim are doing our first TWO★HEARTS filming in almost a year!!

We only have Friday to film though, so we’ll only be doing 5.5 (maybe) and some random stuff. Stay tuned for reports from it

Long time no see!

Today was the start of a new event. Anton from Super Euro Night@NEO organized it, and it was a lot of fun!

Crack Style
Location: Stork, in Okamoto, Kobe city.
Time: First Sunday of every month from 1:00 to 6:30 PM.
Music: Eurobeat is major. Techno is a mix of really random stuff and Major. Not much We Love Techpara and no ridiculous DJ Zorro was played. Thank god.
DJs: Abe (he didn’t come today though), Jun, Tokushin, Nobu, Taiji. I only know DJ Jun though. We do our greetings.

Stork is much better than Neo. I also enjoyed the atmosphere and music selection much more. I could have conversations with people, lots of people did gags or cheers or HEY HEY HEYs, and the music wasn’t so loud. Thank god. My two vodka tonics were very good.

Also, everyone was drinking alcohol, regardless of the fact that it was a Sunday afternoon. When in Rome.

Really no complaints. It was just a good time overall. I think you should all make it to this event if you make it to Kansai, much less Japan. I’d say it’s better than Neo, and you’ll be able to dance a lot more. That is, unless you know every B-1 Dynamite Techno lesson, just about every 2nd Boom song and some Fire Step ON TOP of Major and tons of Twinstar Euro. They play a lot of stuff at Neo that’s obscure, I feel. Also a LOT of Starfire.

Para ibe are a lot of fun. Learn some basic Japanese, make sure you can drink a beer or to (or know how to politely refuse some shots of Tequila) and know some dances. Most importantly, ENJOY.

Hopefully I’ll make it to an event in Himeji, Kyoto and Okayama soon. Giga Crack (Anton, Ryoko and Yuki I Believe) are performing at an event on my birthday. Being with my host fam and friends is more important, but I’ll keep you all updated.

P.S. COME TO KAKKOI CON! I’m going now. And there are two good reason to go. Two VERY good reasons. I just can’t say anything.

As I listen to SEB 186 for the first time I figured I would right my thoughts on each song as it plays. Also Francis asked me to make him a little review. Since I rarely ever do reviews I thought it’d be fun since I’m very opinionated on my Eurobeat but rarely ever discuss tracks. And what better audience than people from LJ and various forums I visit. I rate my tracks based on how much I would want to listen to it regularly on my iPod since that’s where I do the majority of my music listening. Enjoy and please remember this is simply my opinion! ^^v
